The Demiurge used their authority to force the Archons to destroy Khaenri'ah, and turn the people into monsters in order to keep them ignorant and subservient to their rule. The people of Khaenri'ah learned about this truth and attempted to free themselves from Celestia's control. Teyvat is an inverted world under a false Heaven created and maintained by the leader of Celestia, the Demiurge. So essentially, it all leads down to this. A false god more interested in maintaining a fake universe and punishing humanity with an iron fist. If the game does take inspiration from Gnosticism, then it would only make sense that Celestia is ruled by a Demiurge-like entity. According to the story, the 7 Archons were the servants of the Demiurge who were responsible for maintaining and controlling the material universe. The Demiurge originates from Gnosticism, which is also the inspiration for the 7 Archons in the game. For those of you who have played, and/or are fans of Persona 5, you might have heard of the phrase “Demiurge” or “False God”.
As you all know, Genshin Impact’s story takes inspiration from various mythologies, cultures, and religious beliefs. Moving on from Geography, my conclusion is also supported by the etymology of the game. “The stars are a lie”, that’s what Scaramouche told us on Musk Reef, the location of the Spiral Abyss. However, if the Spiral Abyss leads us underground, why does the terrain change to what appears to be outer space? It’s simple, the stars in Teyvat are fake and the true stars are underground outside the inverted world. It’s description portrays it as the ruins of an “underground city”, and Albedo’s story describes Khaenri’ah as an “underground realm”. Continued abuse of our services will cause your IP address to be blocked indefinitely. It is safe to assume that the Spiral Abyss is the entrance to Khaenri’ah.
